Are there parks nearby? McDowell Mountain Park is 4 miles away, great for hiking and overnight camping. Drive 8 miles into Fountain Hills for the Park at the Fountain, enjoy having lunch, playing with grandchildren, feeding the ducks and a walk around the lake.
Is it scenic and visually appealing? The Verdes are surrounded by mountain views. Rio Verde has two 18 hole 'Park' style golf courses, Tonto Verde has two 18 hole 'Desert' Style golf courses and Vista Verde has one 18 hole 'Desert' style golf course. All of which give a large green space throughout the communities.
Are there quiet areas, streets, culs de sac? Being surrounded by mountains, national parks and Indian Reservation, and golf courses you'll experience clean air, views and quiet neighborhoods.

How long ago was the community developed? Rio Verde was developed in the early 1970's, Tonto Verde began development in the middle of 1990 and Vista Verde is beginning development 2008.
Are there families with small children in the area? All three communities are Adult Communities with 80% residents above 50 years of age. Children under age of 18 are visitors only. During all of the holidays there are lots of children/grandchildren visiting and enjoying the Arizona sunshine.
